ATTENDEES:  President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Executive Vice President Michael B. Hill, Dean Gladys J. Willis and Ms. Diane M. Brown. Dr. Harold Aubrey attended a portion of the meeting.

The July 20, 2010 Cabinet minutes were approved.
 
 
PRESIDENT’S DISCUSSION AGENDA
 
Lincoln University 2010-2011 Operating Budget Preparations – Vice President Merlin distributed and discussed Version 10 of the proposed budget.  Division budgets reflecting all changes will be distributed to the vice presidents.  Each division will be required to make appropriate adjustments to operate within its budget allocation.
 
MSCHE – The Cabinet discussed the draft Program Assessment Summary prepared by Dr. Aubrey to be utilized for presentation of assessment evaluation results.  Dr. Aubrey was asked to prepare a schedule of preparation tasks to be followed to ensure the University’s readiness for the small team visit scheduled for September 24, 2010.
 
State Appropriation – The Commonwealth has appropriated $13,623,000 to Lincoln University for general support for the 2010-2011 fiscal year.  The Department of Education has notified the state-related institutions, however, that “if the FMAP funding extension is not authorized by Congress, all state line items in the recently passed budget are vulnerable to cuts, including all higher education line items.”
 
NCAA Division II Membership – Lincoln University has been invited to begin active Division II membership starting September 2010 and will be eligible at that time to participate in NCAA championships, to vote at the annual NCAA Convention and have access to the NCAA Division II Enhancement Fund..
 
Landscaping and Athletic Fields – The Initial Job Conference for this project has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 11, 2010 on Lincoln’s campus.
