MINUTES
Cabinet minutes of June 30, 2009
were approved.
PRESIDENT
2009-2010 Budget –. In view of developments in Harrisburg, all
divisions are asked to limit
spending to essential items at this time.
Buildings & Grounds – President Nelson emphasized
that the
maintenance of campus buildings and grounds must be a priority. This is especially important relative to
day-to-day operations and upkeep.
FISCAL AFFAIRS
Lincoln University’s
final 2008-2009 State Appropriation
payment was reduced by $870,000, which represents the 6% reduction the
State
had placed in reserve near the start of the economic downturn.
The RFI for student housing has been completed and
will be sent out
today.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Department Chairs – 2009-2010 Academic Year – President
Nelson
approved the recommendations for the 2009-2010 Department Chairs
presented by
the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Middle States liaison – Dr. Mary Ellen Petrisko will
serve as Lincoln
University’s
Middle States liaison
following the departure of Dr. Andrea Lex on Friday, July 10, 2009.
The draft Executive Summary of
Lincoln University’s Strategic Action
Plan for Addressing the Middle State’s Commission Compliance Concerns
regarding
Standard 14 was distributed for review and input.
Faculty Conference – Scheduled for August 20-21, 2009
STUDENT AFFAIRS AND ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT
Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars
– Lincoln
University has
been approved to charter
a chapter of the Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International
Scholars. The university’s chapter has
been officially
designated as the “Eta Theta” chapter of Phi Beta Delta.
The Society noted Lincoln
University’s
commitment to internationalization, international endeavors and
excellent
global-initiative programs as all supporting the mission of Phi Beta
Delta.
