MINUTES
Cabinet minutes of June 16, 2009
were approved.
PHYSICAL PLANT UPDATE
- New
Residence Hall – painting of the 1st and 2nd
floors of Phase I has been completed
- ICC
– final punchout has been conducted
-
Contractor has 30 more days to fix
items identified
- Science Building
– floors are 70% complete
- FFE is arriving every day
- Landscape
& Stadium Project – final design has been submitted for review
- Academic Support Center –
shift in location has been finalized
- Langston
Hughes Memorial Library – final sketch has been reviewed by the
Library staff and final approval is expected in late July
PRESIDENT
2009-2010 Commonwealth Budget – Governor Rendell’s
amended
2009-2010 State Budget proposal released on June 26, 2009 includes an
additional $500 million in overall cuts.
Reductions include a 12.8% proposed reduction in the
appropriation of
each of the four State-related institutions.
This represents a possible $2.6 million cut to Lincoln University’s
appropriation. Members of the Cabinet
discussed the impact of a cut of this magnitude on the University
should the
Governor’s budget pass.
FISCAL AFFAIRS
The final draft of the Lincoln
University
“Employee Handbook” was
approved as were the following University policies:
- Termination of the
Employment Relationship
- Computer and
Network Usage by Employees
- Leaves and
Absences other than FMLA and Workers Compensation Leaves
STUDENT AFFAIRS AND ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT
Ms. Ross indicated that financial
aid packages for 75-80% of returning students have been completed. Seventy percent (70%) of the total class has
been packaged.
