Attendees:  President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President Michael B. Hill, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Vice President Grant D. Venerable, II, Dean Jerryl Briggs and Ms. Diane M. Brown.  

June 8, 2005 Cabinet meeting minutes were approved.

2005-2006 Operating Budget
The Lincoln University Board of Trustees approved the 2005-2006 Operating Budget for the University at a Special Meeting on June 23, 2005.  In addition to closely monitoring expenses, the administration will be reviewing closely all requests for new hires and other changes related to personnel.

Center for Continuing Education and Graduate Studies
Vice President Hill reported on several items pertaining to the operation of the Graduate Center.  Approval was given to begin the process to purchase furniture to be in place by September to accommodate our adult students attending classes at the Center.

American Chemical Society Accreditation
The Lincoln University Chemistry Department is currently accredited by the American Chemistry Society (ACS).  A recent review of the Chemistry Department conducted by an ACS representative was positive and the Department Chair is anticipating that the accreditation will continue.

Development and External Relations
Vice President Hill reported that his area in collaboration with the Office of Admissions has developed a set of diverse recruitment ads for use in different regions of the country.  The ads are now ready for use in the University’s recruitment efforts.
