3020 Market
Street Project Update
The following project update was submitted by Bancroft Construction
company:
Schedule – Demolition
phase is in progress. By the end of next
week all of the bank branch work should be completed. The 2nd
floor and 4th floor interiors are currently being
demolished.
The freight elevator is currently out of service for around 5-6 weeks
to allow
for the necessary repairs.
Lincoln 3rd
and 4th floor fit out – Plans are
available for review . Construction pricing is due
late next week for the General Contractor.
Building
Security/Access Cards – The
new access card system which Lincoln
will be implementing on the main campus is compatible with the new
building
access system. Lincoln must choose locations it
wants card
readers or secured entrances within its own space. Power has
already been
added to the 3 main entrances (1 on floor 4 and 2 locations on floor
3). Should
discuss whether additional doors are needed on the system.
Parking
– Parking spots have been
designated for Lincoln
faculty in the temporary lot next to the building. Spots have
been
assigned, the building manger/security are responsible for policing
this
area.
Temporary
AC – Temporary AC change delayed
until after the last day of classes to allow for any issues to be
worked out
during the week between spring classes and the summer session.
Penn
Shaft – A mechanical chase
needed to be located through the 4th floor space for UPenn
on the 2nd
floor, which will impact one classroom (the room will lose around 4′ on
the
back wall).
Asbestos –
Additional asbestos abatement needs to be
completed on the fourth floor. Existing fireproofing behind terra
cotta
walls, within drywall partitions, column enclosures and above ductwork
will
need to be abated during demolition.

The second Summer session has been put in place to
accommodate 60 graduate students (40 MHS and 20 MSA).
Faculty union negotiations are set to continue on June 28th.
