President's Cabinet Meeting
June 22, 2004

Attendees:  President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President Michael B. Hill, Vice President Grant D. Venerable, Vice President William B. Bynum, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, and Ms. Diane M. Brown.

Minutes of June 7, 2004 Cabinet meeting were approved.

National Science Foundation (NSF) Grant
Lincoln University has received a grant from NSF to implement a project titled "Lincoln's Excellent Academic Program in Science (LEAPS).  The grant has been approved for approximately 5 years and will be funded by NSF at $479,490 per year.  The main goal of the project is to significantly increase the pool of adequately prepared minority students for degrees in the sciences and mathematics.  The grant award notification identified Vice President Grant Venerable as Principal Investigator and Dean John Chikwem as Co-Principal Investigator for the LEAPS project.

Employee Evaluations
All employee evaluations are to be completed and forwarded to Human Resources by June 30th.  Vice Presidential self-evaluations are due to the President as soon as possible.

University Space Planning Committee
The Cabinet approved the following space changes recommended by the Space Planning Committee:
¨ Expand the IT department to the adjoining math lab
¨ Relocate the math lab to the Academic Advising space
¨ Relocate Academic Advising to space formerly occupied by Global Studies
¨ Relocate MHS program to the Library

A notice of the approved changes will be distributed to the campus community.
