President’s Cabinet Meeting

ATTENDEES: President Ivory V. Nelson, Provost and Senior Vice
President Grant D. Venerable II, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Executive
Vice President Michael B. Hill, Interim Vice President Jerryl Briggs, and
Ms. Diane M. Brown.
The May 25, 2010 Cabinet minutes were approved with revisions.
PRESIDENT’S DISCUSSION AGENDA
Master Lease with Key Government Finance – Board Resolution 212 -
Vice President Howard Merlin reported that the Master Lease entered into
in 2005 to finance the new academic/ administrative software and hardware
system is scheduled for pay off September 2010.
Summer Capital Projects – Mr. John Thompson joined the meeting via
teleconference for clarification of the summer projects list included in
the May 25, 2010 Cabinet minutes. He indicated that all projects on
the list are in progress or will be started summer 2010. However, major
projects in McCauley and McRary Halls may not be fully implemented until
Lincoln University 2010-2011 Budget Preparations – Vice President
Howard Merlin was asked to provide a dollar cap for 2010-2011 capital projects..
PROVOST AND SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FOR ACADEMIC AND STUDENT AFFAIRS
Cabinet engaged in discussion regarding curriculum and student development.
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT
Summer Bridge Program – All components are in place for the Summer
Bridge Program to begin. We are still contacting students to determine
their commitment to participating in the program.
STUDENT AFFAIRS AND ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT
New Dining Services Contract – The Contract with Thompson Hospitality
is currently under review by counsel and the University’s food consultant.
Thompson personnel will be on campus to determine the changes that can be
accomplished in the dining hall reconfiguration over the summer.
