Draft Cabinet minutes of May 10, 2006 were approved.
FY 07 Operating Budget
In order to develop a balanced budget for 2006-2007, an additional $1.5 million
in expenses must be eliminated from the proposed budgets submitted to the
fiscal office. President Nelson plans to submit the University’s proposed
2006-2007 budget to the Board of Trustees for approval prior June 30, 2006.
New design for Lincoln University Web site
A university committee is working on the new design of the Lincoln University
Web site. Cabinet recommended changes to the proposed new design for
the home page and the admissions home page. President Nelson expressed
a desire that the site be designed in such a way that it is informative and
appealing to prospective students yet still provide information of interest
to others logging onto the site.
Academic Enrichment Center
The construction of the new science building provides the opportunity to
utilize Wright Hall to bring all academic support services under one roof.
Wright Hall renovation will be so designed as to house Academic Advising,
Student Services, Women’s Center/Counseling, Minority Male Health, Upward
Bound, Computer labs. Additional offices/programs may be identified
for relocation to the Academic Enrichment Center as well.
Fiscal Affairs
A live simulation of the new Datatel system is scheduled for the week of
May 22nd.
Development and External Relations
As the university begins to take steps to implement the recent Student
Life Enhancement/Football programs authorized by the Board of Trustees, Vice
President Hill will assemble a Football Advisory Group to help raise funds
and assist in other areas relative to the football program.
Academic Affairs
Vice President Venerable provided copies of the “Master Calendar, Schedule
of Activities” for the Academic Affairs Office.
