MINUTES
Cabinet minutes of May 6, 2008 were
approved.
PRESIDENT
2008 MSCHE Evaluation Team Final Report
Lincoln University’s
response to the MSCHE Committee was approved by Cabinet.
Preparing Lincoln
Students for the 21st Century
President Nelson presented to
members of Cabinet a framework for preparing successful leaders. The outline was discussed in detail. Further discussion was postponed until the
next Cabinet meeting scheduled for May 27, 2008.
PHYSICAL PLANT
PA DGS Projects
Mr. Thompson reported that
inclement weather has delayed construction at the new Science Building
by 50+ days. Library renovations are one week ahead of schedule. The
Student
Union Building wiring is 60% complete and the roof leak was repaired. The Bookstore is scheduled to move into the
Student Union on June 19.
President Nelson requested Mr. Thompson
to increase ICC storage square footage based on available funds.
President Nelson recently
obtained an additional $700,000 for furniture, fixtures and equipment
from PA
DGS.
Summer Schedule
Mr. Thompson provided an update
on summer projects that are either underway or scheduled.
The Rendall Hall abatement project began
today and the McRary Hall bathroom renovations are under contract. Job specifications for an architectural
review of Alumni, Bond, Cresson, Houston,
and Building #15 will be ready for bid next week.
FISCAL
AFFAIRS
Employee Medical Coverage
Cabinet approved Lincoln University’s
Medical
Coverage Opt Out policy as presented by Vice President Merlin. The policy provides medical benefit eligible
employees to opt out of medical coverage.
Vice President Merlin urged all University employees to
complete, sign
and return the 2008-09 Medical Coverage Benefits Form to the Office of
Human
Resources not later than May 25, 2008.
FY09 Capital and Operating
Budgets
The FY09 Capital and Operating budgets were reviewed in
detail.
ADJOURNMENT
The next Cabinet meeting will be held on Tuesday,
May 27, 2008, at
9:00 a.m. in the Vail Hall Board Room.
The Vice Presidents and Deans were asked to be in attendance.
There being no further
business, President Nelson adjourned the meeting at 1:10 p.m.
