2006-2007 Proposed Budgets
In order to develop a balanced 2006-2007 operating budget, all expenses must be rolled back to the 2005-2006 levels.  President Nelson instructed each vice president to make this change to their proposed budgets and submit the revised numbers to the budget office.

The Lincoln University Summer School schedule has been changed to the following:

Lincoln University Concert Choir Annual Tour
Cabinet reviewed the Spring 2006 Concert Choir Tour Schedule.  The Choir has done an outstanding job of representing the university in the various venues in which they have performed.  Cabinet proposed that future Choir tours should be coordinated to work in concert with the University’s fundraising and recruitment efforts.

American Chemical Society review
The American Chemical Society (ACS) report on its 2005 site visit/review of Lincoln University’s chemistry department supports the efforts and progress made in this program since the program was placed on probationary status in 2001.  The ACS acknowledged the strong support of the administration in ensuring that Lincoln offers a quality education to its chemistry majors.  The Committee agreed the department has implemented substantial improvements since 2001 and has developed plans to address all of their remaining concerns.  The University’s probationary period has been extended to the end of 2007 to allow the department time to complete its plans.

Development and External Relations
Vice President Hill provided update on preparations for the Founder’s Day & Alumni Awards Banquet and the Commencement ceremony.

Vice President Venerable reported to the Cabinet on his meeting with Morgan State University regarding their dual degree programs in engineering.  The vice president met with MSU to discuss a possible MOU between the two schools.  Cabinet asked Vice President Venerable to also look into the dual degree program proposals Lincoln University previously received from Drexel University.
