President's Cabinet Meeting

Attendees: President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President Richard C. Winchester, Vice President Edward L. McCusker, Vice President Arnold T. Hence, Vice President Anthony R. Fairbanks, Ms. Rosalie Facey-Jones, Ms. Diane M. Brown

Human Resources - Ms. Facey-Jones distributed copies of Lincoln University's Disability Accommodation Policy. The policy will be distributed to all custodians of the Policy manual.

International Cultural Center - A meeting has been scheduled for Monday, May 08, 2000 with the Bureau of Engineering & Architecture to discuss the status, design and construction schedule, contracting methods and other features of this project. Mr. John Willis, Mr. Edward McCusker, and President Nelson will attend this meeting.

Emergency Response Group - April 24, 2000 Meeting - The group met on Lincoln's campus. Representatives from the student body, staff and administration of Lincoln were in attendance. Others in attendance included representatives from the PA Dept. of Labor & Industry, Oxford Fire Company, SpectraGuard Security, Chester County Fire Marshal and the University's government consultant. Participants discussed a plan of action to address the issue of safety and security on the campus. The next meeting of the group is scheduled for May 22, 2000. Rep.

Arthur D. Hershey Support Letters - Representative Hershey sent letters to the Department of General Services, the Secretary of Education and the Secretary of the Budget supporting the release of $1,04,000 for the storm water drainage system, $4,200,000 for boiler plant and steam distribution, and $2,530,000 for renovation of University Hall. President Nelson will contact members of Lincoln's Board who are part of the PA legislature, to ask their assistance in this matter.

Greek Lettered & Social Organizations - This new policy will be discussed by the Student Life Committee of the Board at their meeting, Friday, May 5, 2000. 2000-2001

Operating Budget - The Cabinet discussed the 2000-2001 operating expenses submitted by each area. Vice President McCusker will look at and submit figures for the revenue side in order to get a better idea of the budget scenario at this point. President Nelson would like to submit a proposed budget to the Board of Trustees by the end of May.

Academic Affairs - Vice President Winchester provided a copy of the memorandum from HPER prioritizing the capital projects in that area in the following order: tennis courts, soccer field, gym floor.
