2006-2007 Proposed Budgets
Cabinet continued discussions regarding the 2006-2007 operating budgets and
reviewed closely the budget request submitted by Fiscal Affairs.
Much of the anticipated budget increase in the total university budget is
due to salary increases mandated by union contracts and the attendant benefits,
interest expense, student board and rental expenses. In view of these
necessary increases, all divisions were asked, as much as possible, to keep
other expense items in line with the 2005-2006 budget. Additionally,
a close review must be made of any requests to fill vacant positions or create
new positions.
The following capital fund distribution was agreed upon for 2006-2007.
· Development and External Relations - $70,000
· Academic Affairs - $150,000
· Student Affairs and Enrollment Management - $200,000
· Fiscal Affairs - $400,000
These allocations are in line with the requests submitted by each division.
An additional $2.7 million dollars has been scheduled for maintenance and
renovation of facilities.
Development and External Relations
Vice President Hill shared with the Cabinet the “Lincoln University Employee
Contribution Report” and urged all officers and persons holding leadership
positions within the University to consider increasing their level of giving
to Lincoln. A list of all contributions made to Lincoln University
during the fiscal year is included each year in the President’s Annual Report.
Reports on larger amounts received from donors are made throughout the year.
