MINUTES
Cabinet minutes of April 14, 2009
were approved.
PRESIDENT
Lincoln University’s 2009-10 Budget – The Cabinet members
continued their discussions regarding the 2009-2010 operating &
capital
budgets. Fiscal Conformance Reports for
the period July 1, 2008 – March 31, 2009 were discussed.
Centers of Excellence Scholarships – The deans
explained the
involvement of faculty in recruiting and retaining these scholars. The importance of faculty involvement and
follow up by admissions personnel in the recruiting process was
stressed.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Dean Thomas provided a list of
student achievements and internships for the School of Social
Sciences
and Behavioral Studies. Deans Chikwem
and Willis were asked to provide this same type of information for
compilation
of a student achievement report for the entire University.
Dean Chikwem advised that 2009 is
the first graduating class for the LEAPS program.
Dean Willis was asked to provide
a description of Lincoln’s
Honors Program to President Nelson.
DEVELOPMENT AND EXTERNAL RELATIONS
Work has begun on the distance
education room at 3020 Lincoln
Plaza in Philadelphia.
STUDENT AFFAIRS AND ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT
Five hundred (500) beds will be
available for freshman students for fall 2009.
The decrease in this number from prior years is due to a larger
retention of upperclass students.
