MINUTES
Cabinet minutes of April 8, 2008,
were approved.
PRESIDENT
Middle States Reaccreditation Review - The Middle
States April
13-16, 2008 campus visit and Exit Interview suggestions and
recommendations
were discussed by the cabinet. The
collection, recording and utilization of assessment data in strategic
planning
was discussed at length.
Student Union Building
Renovation – Funds have been released
to the current contractor to perform the data wiring and additional
electrical
work. The release of these funds at this
time will most likely shorten the 3-4 month extension previously
anticipated.
2008 National HBCU Week Conference will be held
September 7-10,
2008 in Washington,
DC.
FISCAL AFFAIRS
Details of the proposed 2008-09
Operating Budget were reviewed and discussed.
Additional adjustments must be made in order to avoid an
increase in
expenses over last fiscal year. The vice
presidents were asked to carefully consider whether requests for
additional
staffing and increases in the supply budget lines are critical to the
successful operation of their areas.
The revised “Termination Policy
& Procedure” was approved by the Cabinet.
Cabinet discussed the
“Compensation Reduction Agreement” relative to health of dental
benefits, which
will be distributed to employees. The
form must be completed and returned to the Office of Human Resources in
order
to purchase group health and/or dental coverage on a pre-tax basis.
STUDENT AFFAIRS & ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT
Lincoln University
is on target to submit its Annual Report and Institutional Self Study
Guide to
the NCAA by the June 1 deadline. The
NCAA Membership Committee will review this information at its July
meeting as
part of the University’s exploratory period and membership process.
The Department of Athletics has
established “Lions” Season Ticket Packages for the Inaugural Football
Season
2008 and Basketball 08/09. Season Ticket
Packages and the “SideLion” pass may be purchased by contacting the
athletic
ticket office at 484-365-7391 or 7384.
A number of year end close out
banquets/activities were held over the past week.
