President's Cabinet Meeting

2002-03 Operating Budget - Vice Presidents have been asked to revise budget requests to reflect a zero increase in expenses over their 2001-02 budgets.  Justification must be provided for all requests for increases in salary lines (above and beyond the University's contractual obligations).

Emergency Phone System - The emergency phone system is now on-line with phones located at, or near Manuel Rivero Hall, the Thurgood Marshall Living Learning Center, Rendall Hall, Lucy Laney, Hall, the Ware Center and the Langston Hughes Memorial Library.  The phones provide auto call back to a phone located in the dispatch office as well as other security emergency features.

Watershed Park Project - An Octorara Watershed Association grant will support plans to create a planting area in the quad behind Rendall Hall.  Lincoln's contribution will involve some student and employee labor and topsoil for the project.

Higher Education Equipment Grant (HEEG)  - Lincoln's 2001-02 HEEG award of $16,709 has been used to acquire ten (10) electric pianos for the music department.  The previous year's (2000-01) award was applied to the purchase of furnishings for the SAP lab.

Student Affairs and Enrollment Management (SA&EM)

New SA&EM Directors - Effective April 1, 2002, Mr. Larry Woods, formerly Associate Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police at West Chester University, joined the Lincoln University staff as Director of Public Safety and Security.  Mrs. Shirley Silva-Paige, Lincoln's new Director of Financial Aid, also joined the SA&EM staff  on April 1.  Mrs. Silva-Paige, was Director of Financial Aid at Hesser College in New Hampshire before coming to Lincoln University.
