President's Cabinet Meeting

Attendees:  President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President Michael B. Hill, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Vice President William B. Bynum, Vice President Grant D. Venerable, and Ms. Diane M. Brown.

The March 15, 2004 President's Cabinet Meeting minutes were approved.

Lincoln University's Parents Day - Sunday, March 21, 2004
The Cabinet applauded the SAEM staff and our students for the decorum and execution of events held in observation of Parent's Day.  Events were well organized and attended.  The Reverend Al Sharpton, Speaker for the Parent's Day Luncheon, was well received by the overflowing audience.  The event was covered by The Daily Local News, which featured a front-page article in its Monday edition of the paper.

Lincoln University's Accreditation Reaffirmed
In its CHE Letter, Winter 2004, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education reported that Lincoln University's Accreditation has been reaffirmed via Periodic Review Report.

Academic Affairs
The Cabinet discussed whether moving the MHS program offices to a permanent location in the Library rather than a temporary move to Dickey Hall might be feasible.  Various items, including heating and internet access in the Library will have to be investigated before a final decision is made.

Fiscal Affairs
Meetings with three Bond Rating Agencies for the new 400-bed student dorm have been scheduled for March 31st and April 1st.

Student Affairs and Enrollment Management
Student Accounts
Approximately 30 students will be asked to move out of their rooms due to financial clearance.

The Division is looking into the possibility of utilizing debit cards to manage student financial accounts in the future.
