Judith A.W. Thomas, and Ms. Diane M. Brown.
MINUTES
Cabinet meeting minutes of March 8, 2011 were approved.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
·
Standard 14 Requirements - Cabinet members discussed
the current status of progress to achieve Standard 14: Student Learning Assessment
requirements. President Nelson requested
that the deans forward all updated information for inclusion on the webpage.
·
Lincoln
University Budget – Cabinet members discussed the FY11 and FY12 University
budgets. President Nelson approved
requests for hires already in the pipeline. The deans were
asked to work with Human Resources to ensure that the list of vacant positions
is up-to-date and accurate.
·
Senate
Appropriations Hearing – The State Appropriations Hearing of the four
State-related universities has been moved up from March 28 to Wednesday, March
16 @ 1 PM.
·
Grim
Hall Construction – The allocated State funding for this project had been
exhausted and the project not completed. President Nelson, in conversations with state officials, was able to
secure the additional funds needed for the completion of this renovation
project.
·
Admission
to Lincoln University’s MEd program – Dean Willis requested, and was granted
permission to review and suggest possible revisions to the criteria for
admission to the University’s Med program.
She was advised to be mindful that any revisions must be in compliance
with state laws.
·
Student
Financial Clearance – Vice President Merlin informed the group that letters are
ready to be sent to students regarding outstanding balances necessitating their
administrative withdrawal them from the University.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, President Nelson adjourned the
meeting at 11:30 a.m.
