President's Cabinet Meeting
March 8, 2004
9:00 a.m.

Attendees:  President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President Michael B. Hill, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Vice President William B. Bynum, Vice President Grant D. Venerable, and Ms. Diane M. Brown.

The March 1, 2004 President's Cabinet Meeting minutes were approved.

Capital Projects
Mr. James Creedon, Deputy Secretary for Public Works, PA Department of General Services is scheduled to visit Lincoln University on March 11, 2004 to discuss issues relating to the various capital projects currently under way on the campus.  Also on the agenda is the handling of future capital projects.

Horace Mann Bond-Leslie Pinckney Hill Scholarship Award
Lincoln University student Kareem R. Calliste has been selected as a recipient of the Horace Mann Bond-Leslie Pinckney Hill Scholarship Award.  The award is presented by the PA Department of Education.  The scholarship covers books, full tuition and all tuition required fees at The Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University for a maximum of three academic years of study in Mr. Calliste's chosen field of law.

Oxford Area High School
The Oxford Area High School swim team utilized Lincoln University's swimming facilities for practice sessions during their recent season.  The School District has expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to experience the advantages of a quality facility with ample practice time, enabling the team to grow and improve.

Fiscal Affairs
Steps will be taken to "winterize" McRary and Frederick Douglass Halls over the summer break.  The process will begin in May.

Student Affairs
Pre-registration will take place March 15-23, 2004.

2004-2005 Scholarship Budget
A total scholarship budget of $2,900,000 has been established for the 2004-2005 academic year.  Of this amount, $400,000 is derived from private/endowed, LASER, MARC and other programs.
