MINUTES
Cabinet minutes of February 27,
2008, were approved.
PRESIDENT
CIAA Tournament
President Nelson briefed the
Cabinet on his recent trip to the CIAA Tournament in Charlotte, NC. He
indicated that Lincoln
University
must begin discussions/planning now on future CIAA Tournament
involvement and
the extent of the University’s role in alumni involvement.
The Tournament is a major occurrence that Lincoln must consider in
its planned move to Div. II and the CIAA.
Yearly Performance Reviews
Vice Presidential
self-evaluations are due by June 1, 2008.
Strategic Plan Update
President Nelson asked that the
vice presidents please submit their Strategic Plan updates as soon as
possible
if they had not already done so.
Student Loan Market
Lincoln
will continue to monitor the impact
of the current credit crisis and student loan developments on its
student
body. Vice President Bynum indicated
that we will not be able to determine the level of impact until
students begin
the application process for the 2008-2009 academic year.
STEM Education
President Nelson briefed the
Cabinet on The Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Universities
(PACU)
discussions regarding preparing PA students for careers in Science,
Technology,
Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2008
Lincoln University
has been identified as the recipient of a Congressionally-directed
grant for
$85,480.00 “for campus-wide technology upgrades and wiring.”
2008 Campus Satisfaction Survey
The 2008 Administration/Faculty
Survey was distributed for information and action.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Dean Thomas indicated that all
summer/fall schedules for her school have been submitted.
FISCAL AFFAIRS
Vice President Merlin is still
gathering information and quotes for the Lincoln University
medical benefit. A Selection Committee
must be assigned to meet with the possible healthcare providers. A Health Fair for employees will be held once
a provider has been selected so that employees may make selections.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further
business, President Nelson adjourned the meeting at 11:20 a.m.
