President's Cabinet Meeting

Minutes of the February 24, 2003 Cabinet Meeting were approved.

University Administrative Hiring Procedures - The University's Personnel Action Form (PAF) has been revised to clearly delineate the authority of the Vice Presidents in the hiring process. The approval of the President will only be required in instances where a new hire causes an increase in the division's salary budget or headcount/staffing. The new form is to be implemented immediately. In addition, all offer letters for administrative personnel will come from the respective vice president. Human Resources will continue in its role in the hiring of union employees.

Commonwealth Equipment Grant - Lincoln University's revised final allocation and grant award is $8,560.The Office of Academic Affairs has been assigned the task of determining for which academic area the funds will be used.

Internships - As of February 27, 2003, 110 internship opportunities were available for Lincoln University students. This represents an increase of 100%. The Cabinet applauded the efforts of Ms. Brenda Neal in making these opportunities available to the student body.

Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund (TMSF) Microsoft Technology Grant - The TMSF has received a $15 million software grant from Microsoft Corp. to support its Technology Initiative. The grant will be distributed to the TMSF member institutions through a competitive process. Lincoln University will submit a proposal to TMSF for a software grant award.
