MINUTES
Cabinet minutes of February 19,
2008, were approved.
PHYSICAL PLANT BRIEFING
Approximately 16 days have been
lost on the construction of the new science building due to the weather.
Contractors officially began work
on the library renovation February 19th.
Contractors are expected to break
ground at the end of March for the International Cultural
Center.
PRESIDENT
President Nelson attended a
“Pennsylvania Student Loan Funding Summit” on Thursday, February 21,
2008 in Harrisburg. The Summit
was sponsored by PHeaa and brought together political, education and
financial
leaders to discuss the impending crisis in funding for student loans. Cabinet discussed material distributed at the
Summit and the effects this downward
turn in
funding may mean to Lincoln
students.
FISCAL AFFAIRS
Additional analysis information
regarding the health care provider options for the upcoming benefit
year was
shared with Cabinet.
STUDENT AFFAIRS & ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT
Vice President Bynum reported
that a team of personnel associated with Lincoln
University’s athletics program
and the
transition to Division II, made a very informative and successful visit
to the University
of Indianapolis
February 20 – 22,
2008. The visit was part of the NCAA
Division II reclassification process which advises exploratory members
to visit
an active, model DII athletic program.

There being no further
business, President Nelson adjourned the meeting at 12:00 p.m.
