Draft Cabinet minutes of February 13, 2007 were
approved.
Budget Preparations
President Nelson spoke on the subject of the
various
influences that must be considered as the 2007-2008 operating budget is
being
developed. All requests for personnel
increases must be reviewed carefully.
The Division of Fiscal Affairs will be given the opportunity to
make a
presentation concerning its personnel needs at the next meeting of the
Cabinet.
Pandemic Flu
The Vice Presidents were asked to talk to their
staffs to
raise the conscience level concerning the pandemic flu.
Lincoln
University has a
plan of
action in place in the event of a deadly flu pandemic.
Fiscal Affairs
Additional employee survey data concerning
selection of the
University’s health insurance plan was provided for discussion.
An update on faculty and police union negations
was also
provided.
Development and External Relations
4th Annual Chester
County
Economic Outlook Breakfast
Lincoln
University and
Chester
County Chamber of Business and Industry will host the 4th
Annual
Chester County Economic Outlook Breakfast on Friday, March 2, 2007. This annual event positions Lincoln as a
resource and think tank in terms
of economic development within the county.
Students Recognized at Conference
Ninety-five Lincoln
students
attended the Chaka Fattah Conference held February 16-18 in Philadelphia.
Two of our students won laptop computers while five others
received
scholarship certificates and cash prizes valued at
$50 to $500.
Master Lease
Negotiations for the Graduate Center Master Lease
are moving
forward with closing expected to take place the first week in March.
Student Visitations
The Director of Career Services recently
accompanied seven Lincoln student to Rhode Island
for law school visitations.
Black
History Month
Two Black History Month programs have been held
thus far
during the month of March.
Student
Affairs and Enrollment Management
Lincoln University will host the
Women’s Division III Independent Basketball tournament the weekend of
February
23-24, 2007.
