MINUTES
Cabinet minutes of February 10,
2009 were approved.
PRESIDENT
Capital Projects
A letter addressing concerns
regarding possibly not meeting the construction timeline of the International Cultural Center
was distributed.
Design for the Landscape and
Athletics projects have not yet been approved.
Another meeting has been scheduled for a final design review
before
revised designs are presented.
Economic Impact on Higher Education
President Nelson distributed the
agenda from a recent meeting with Mayor Nutter and Higher Education
Leaders at
which, higher education priorities, Federal Economic Stimulus
opportunities were
discussed.
Additional information regarding
the Federal Economic Stimulus was distributed and discussed.
Articles addressing the impact of
the economic downturn on HBCUs were also distributed and discussed.
Lincoln University IT Project Highlights
February 16, 2009 IT update was
discussed.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Vice President Venerable
discussed the possible strategies in planning for the upcoming fall
class
schedules.
Cabinet also discussed teaching
tools at the Graduate
Center.
FISCAL AFFAIRS
Vice President Merlin discussed
the University’s Statement of Activities for the seven months ending
January
31, 2009.
DEVELOPMENT & EXTERNAL RELATIONS
Vice Presidents Hill and Bynum,
along with Athletic Director Dianthia Ford-Kee are in discussions with Cheyney University counterparts
regarding plans
for a Fall 2011 Lincoln/Cheyney Football Classic.
STUDENT AFFAIRS AND ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT
Lincoln University
will seat a team in the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge this year. The 20th annual Honda Campus
All-Star Challenge National Championship Tournament will be held March
26-30,
2009 in Orlando, Florida.
