President's Cabinet Meeting

Attendees: President Ivory V. Nelson, Interim Vice President Saligrama C. SubbaRao, Vice President Michael Hill, Vice President Edward L. McCusker, Vice President William B. Bynum, Ms. Diane M. Brown.

Governor's Proposed Budget - The Governor's proposed budget, released on February 6, 2001, includes a $950,000 reduction in Lincoln's 2001-2002 appropriation. Lincoln is scheduled to make its presentation before the Senate and House appropriation committees on February 26 and 27.

Graduate Alumni Chapter - President Nelson met with the officers of the Graduate Alumni Chapter concerning Act 136 Proposed Regulations. It was agreed that Lincoln should begin to change the MHS program curriculum to comply with new Professional Licensure requirements. In the meantime, Lincoln will continue efforts to get the MHS degree grandfathered under the proposed regulations. Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows program - Participation in the Visiting Fellows program for 2001-2002 requires payment of a $5,000 fee. Vice President SubbaRao will discuss Lincoln's participation in the program with the Deans.

A total of 1816 students have been cleared for the spring semester. The 29 students who have not yet been cleared are all graduate students. All uncleared students will be advised via letter that they must be cleared by Monday, February 19, or they will be dropped from class rolls and will receive no credits for this semester.
