President's Cabinet Meeting

The February 2, 2004 President's Cabinet Meeting minutes were approved.
Posting Official Proceedings on Website
The Cabinet approved a University policy establishing the length of time that records of official proceedings will be posted on the University's website. These documents shall be posted for a period of five (5) years or until no longer needed for reference. Records of official proceedings will continue to be archived as permanent records of the University.
The Ad Hoc By-Laws Committee of the Board has taken the matter regarding the policy governing the selection of the Student Trustee to the Lincoln University Board of Trustees off the table. This action was taken following feedback received from students.
Governor's 2004-2005 Operations Budget (Higher Education)
The Governor's 2004-2005 Operations Budget was recently released. Included in the Budget is a proposed $12,428,000 appropriation for Lincoln University for FY 2004-05. This represents a 2.25% increase over the University's $12,155,000 Commonwealth appropriation for 2003-2004.
Lincoln University is scheduled to make its Budget Presentation before the House and Senate Appropriations Committees on February 25, 2004 in Harrisburg.
Mediation with the Faculty Bargaining Team is continuing. Another mediation session has been scheduled for later in the week.
The open gym hours for students will be extended by an hour to provide additional time for students to engage in extracurricular activities.
Development and External Relations
Woodrow Wilson Fellowships
Applications for the Woodrow Wilson Fellowships were received in the Office of Development & External Relations. The applications will be turned over to the office of Academic Affairs for distribution to interested persons.
2004-2005 Operating & Capital Budget Preparation
The office of Fiscal Affairs will distribute the necessary documents and information for preparing the 2004-2005 operating and capital budgets. Each division has been instructed to prepare an operating budget based on last year's budget less 2%.
Immediate steps will be taken to try to alleviate the excessive muddy conditions around the statue and in the areas leading to Rendall Hall. These areas are heavily traveled by students and the muddy conditions have become an impediment to pedestrian traffic.
The Cabinet meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
