MINUTES
Cabinet meeting minutes of January
25, 2011 were approved.
MIDDLE STATES
In
accordance with its letter of November 19, 2010, Dr. Mary Ellen Petrisko, Vice
President, Middle States Commission on Higher Education, was scheduled to visit
the campus on January 26, 2011 to discuss the Commission on Higher Education’s
expectations regarding student learning assessment. Unfortunately, however, weather conditions
made it necessary to postpone her visit to Friday, February 18, 2011.
Cabinet
reviewed progress and next steps toward meeting Middle States Standard 14,
Student Learning Assessment.
ORGANIZATIONAL
CHANGES
President Nelson informed the Cabinet that he will
be organizing a President’s Advisory Council on Academic Affairs with whom he
will meet semimonthly. The Advisory
Council will provide a mechanism for communication and implementation of
matters relative to better faculty participation in decision making processes. The Advisory Council will be comprised of five
faculty members – one representing each of the three schools, a graduate school
representative and an at-large representative.

Vice President Merlin provided FY11 Enrollment
figures as of February 1, 2011.

APPROPRIATIONS
HEARINGS
President Nelson is scheduled to appear before the
Senate and House Appropriations Committees on Monday, March 28, 2011, in
Harrisburg to present testimony regarding Lincoln University’s 2011-2012 Budget
Request.
ADJOURNMENT
President
Nelson adjourned the meeting at 11.45 a.m. to participate in a teleconference
meeting. Items not discussed will be
carried over to the next meeting of the Cabinet.
