Attendees: President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Vice President William B. Bynum, Vice President Grant D. Venerable, Vice President Michael B. Hill and Ms. Diane M. Brown.
Draft Cabinet minutes of January 25, 2007 were approved.
Cabinet discussed correspondence received from the David Horowitz Freedom Center regarding Academic Freedom Hearings conducted last year by a committee of the Pennsylvania legislature. While Lincoln does not have an official policy on this subject, the university does follow a recognized practice. This practice will be reviewed and a formal policy governing academic freedom protections for Lincoln students will be drafted for implementation.
An update on the Middle States Self Study and faculty union negotiations was provided.
The revised “Athletic Department Mission Statement” was presented.
At the request of the vice president, the student mailroom will close at 8 PM, effective immediately.
