President’s Cabinet Meeting

Attendees:  President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President William B. Bynum, Jr., Vice President Michael B. Hill, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Vice President Grant D. Venerable II, and Ms. Jody C. Brunner for Ms. Diane M. Brown.

President Nelson announced the death of PA Senator Robert J. Thompson (19th District) on January 28, 2006.

Strategic Plan
President Nelson asked Vice President Merlin and Vice President Venerable to reference in the 2006-2010 Strategic Plan, the strategic plan reports prepared by the Director of IT and Director of the Library and include them in their entirety as addendums to the Plan.

The Core Curriculum structure will be brought before the full faculty in March 2006.

President Nelson asked Vice President Venerable to provide a report to include for each faculty member for both semesters:
·    course load
·    enrollment in each section
·    student/faculty ratio

Middle States Self Study and Evaluation
A preparatory visit by the Commission is scheduled for April 4, 2006.  The Self Study draft model will be ready in a few weeks.

Vice President Merlin provided an update on the Bookstore, the book delivery timetable, and faculty adoptions.  Vice President Merlin also provided Cabinet with a Financial Statements Summary 1998-2005.

The University’s salary budget is due mid-February; with the full budget due early March 2006.

Lincoln University will host ECAC Association of Division III Independents men’s basketball tournament February 24-25.

There being no further business, President Nelson adjourned the meeting at 11:00 a.m.
