MINUTES
Cabinet minutes of January 20,
2009 were approved.
PRESIDENT
Strategic Plan Updates – President Nelson emphasized
that the
information contained in the Strategic Plans must be shared and
communicated to
all groups of employees on campus. The
updated Plan should be completed by mid-February. The
vice presidents were asked to provide
edits/comments regarding the Goal Definitions and Assumptions for
Strategic
Planning which are included in the Plan.
Developmental Course credit – Developmental courses
completed prior
to 2006 count toward graduation.
Developmental courses taken after 2006 will not count toward
graduation
credits.
Proposed Budget Process and Measures – Cabinet
continued its
discussion of Lincoln
University’s
2008-09
budget and 2009-10 budgetary issues that must be addressed. Discussion included how Lincoln University
might take advantage of funds that may become available through the
government’s stimulus package under consideration.
DEVELOPMENT AND EXTERNAL RELATIONS
The implementation of an Advisory
Board for the Center
of Excellence in
Business
has made significant progress and is expected to launch with the next
few
months.
The division was asked to look
further into the request coming from LEVAS Communications, LLL to
permit 900AM
WURD to broadcast live from Lincoln University’s
campus
during Black History Month 2009. Development
was asked to involve the Department of Communications on this.
Vice President Hill presented a draft
scope for RFI/RFP for student housing.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
The committee has narrowed search
for the Director of Assessment to two candidates.
The move for freshmen to declare
a major in their first semester is progressing.
FISCAL AFFAIRS
Cabinet authorized the discontinuance
of a severance policy in favor of case by case negotiation.
Open benefit enrollment will take
place for two days in March.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, President
Nelson adjourned the meeting at 12:45 p.m.
