President's Cabinet Meeting

Attendees: President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President William B. Bynum Jr., Vice President Michael B. Hill, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Vice President Grant D. Venerable II, and Ms. Diane M. Brown
The January 20, 2004 President's Cabinet Meeting Minutes were approved.
Heat to Ashmun and Rendall Halls was lost over the weekend due to the breakdown of the portable boiler. Students were relocated until heat to the buildings could be restored. Replacement boilers have been installed and the heat to the halls is now back up. Some students have returned to their rooms. Other residents will be moved back into their rooms once the temperature on the floor has reached an acceptable level.
Faculty Contract Negotiations
Vice President Venerable will establish a schedule of possible dates for mediation with the Faculty Negotiating Team.
The Lincoln University Bulletin
The new Lincoln University Bulletin is ready for print. A limited number of copies will be printed for recruitment purposes. The Bulletin is currently located on the University's web site.
Development and External Relations
The Barnes Foundation
Vice President Hill reported on his meeting with Ms. Camp concerning the proposed collaborative program between Lincoln University and The Barnes Foundation. Vice President Venerable will follow up with the Dean to ensure that discussions and planning continue to move forward.
The Committee will begin interviewing candidates for the position of Financial Aid Director next week.
Interviews with the final three underwriter candidates for the 400-bed dorm will be conducted on Friday, January 30th.
The Cabinet meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
