MINUTES
Cabinet minutes of January 14,
2009 were approved.
PRESIDENT
Gates Millennium Scholar – Xavier Demond Davis, a Gates
Millennium
Scholar, is currently a junior with a 3.460 cum GPA at Lincoln University.
The Gates Millennium Scholars Program
provides scholarships for undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
House Appropriation Hearing – President Nelson is
scheduled to
appear before the House Appropriations Committee on March 2, 2009 for Lincoln University’s 2009-2010 budget
hearing.
President Nelson distributed
several articles which detailed actions being taken by different
colleges and
universities in light of declining state revenues in the current
economic
downturn.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Lincoln University
recently received the Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award in the
amount of
$4000. The award will be made at the
November Convocation.
The draft Five Year Assessment
Plan for Lincoln
University was
reviewed.
FISCAL AFFAIRS
Cabinet requested that the office
of human resources review their administration of the Family and
Medical Leave
Act as it pertains to the use of available sick leave.
Overtime requests for the
2009-2010 budget must be identified and justified in the budget
requests for
each department/division.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, President
Nelson adjourned the meeting at 11:15 a.m.
