President's Cabinet Meeting
January 20, 2004
9:00 a.m.

Attendees:  President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President William B. Bynum Jr., Vice President Michael B. Hill, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Vice President Grant D. Venerable II, Dr. Maurice Taylor, and Ms. Jody Brunner.  Dean Gladys J. Willis was in attendance for a portion of the meeting.

The January 13, 2004 President's Cabinet Meeting Minutes were approved.

The Barnes Foundation
Vice President Hill will make an appointment to meet with Ms. Camp to discuss outstanding issues between the University and the Barnes Foundation.

The Lincoln-Barnes Collaborative
Dean Willis will make an appointment for Vice President Venerable to meet with Ms. Camp regarding the degree programs.

Information Technology
Weekly IT Highlights are to be distributed campus-wide and posted in computer labs.

Academic Affairs
Vice President Venerable will distribute Captain Connor's article: "Arming Campus Police," to the Faculty.

Development and External Relations
Preparations for the New York Sesquicentennial Gala are underway.  Programmatic fundraising will begin for the University's Centers for Excellence.

Student Affairs
Student population for Spring 2004 is 87 less than Fall 2003 (undergraduate and graduate), pending IT verification.  The actual graduate population will be available next week.

Vice President Bynum will address the University's heating issues in a campus-wide communication.

The Cabinet meeting was adjourned at 12:00 p.m.
