Attendees:  President Ivory V. Nelson, Vice President William B. Bynum, Vice President Michael B. Hill, Vice President Howard E. Merlin, Vice President Grant D. Venerable, Ms. Jody C. Brunner for Ms. Diane M. Brown.  Attending for a portion of the meeting Mr. John H. Thompson, Director of Physical Plant.
Cabinet minutes of December 12, 2007, were approved as corrected.
Middle States Evaluator Visit
President Nelson announced that Dr. Stanton Biddle, Middle States Evaluator, will visit Lincoln University and the Langston Hughes Memorial Library on Tuesday, January 15, 2008.  President Nelson asked Vice President Venerable to prepare material regarding the Library for Mr. Tracey J. Hunter Hayes, Director of the Library, to present to Dr. Biddle during the American Library Association Mid-Winter Conference in Philadelphia on January 9-14, 2008.
PA DGS Projects
President Nelson thanked everyone for their hard work during the various moves in December.  The Ware Center, University Hall and Graduate Center moves are complete and the Physical Plant is in the process of completing the Library move.
Mr. Thompson announced that bids for DGS Project No. 1101-42 International Cultural Center (ICC) came in lower than expected.  An additional $3 million in actual construction can be brought back into the building.  There have been two meeting regarding DGS Project No. 1101-45/46 Landscaping and Athletic Field projects.  The March 2008 completion date of DGS Project No. 1101-40 Student Union Building Upgrades remains on schedule.  A crane has arrived on site for DGS Project No. 1101-41 Science Building in anticipation of the arrival of steel.
Residence Halls
President Nelson asked Mr. Thompson to provide Cabinet with a report on the costs to renovate Alumni and Bond Houses and Cresson and Houston Halls.
Middle States Self-Study
President Nelson asked Vice President Venerable to provide each Vice President with a copy of the Draft report.
Visual Arts Program
Vice President Hill will publicize Lincoln’s new visual arts program at the Barnes Foundation.
Graduate Center
President Nelson asked Cabinet members to develop guidelines, policies and procedures for all Lincoln University tenants/programs that go into the Graduate Center, e.g., contracts/agreements, liability, program operation, insurances, coordination requirements with main campus departments and offices, etc.
Graduate Center
Vice President Hill provided an update on the renovation of the Graduate Center and thanked Mr. Thompson, Mr. Carol and Ms. Lea, as well as members of their staff, for the smooth transition.
National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation
President Nelson asked Vice President Hill to provide a list of candidates for Cabinet to consider for nomination to the National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation.  The deadline for submitting nominations is 01.25.08.
Vice President Merlin reported that closing for December 2007 Conformance Reports will be delayed about a week.
Vice President Merlin also reported on the high cost of University health care coverage and the limited number of suppliers.
Vice President Bynum reported that today is the last day of orientation for new students and that residence halls are fairly full.

PA Department of Education
President Nelson asked Vice President Bynum to complete and file the 2008 Assurance of Compliance form assuring that Lincoln University is in compliance with the Uniform Crime Reporting Act and Chapter 33 of the Regulations of the PA State Board of Education.
Office of Student Services
Vice President Bynum provided Cabinet with a Fall 2007 End-of-Semester Report for the Office of Student Services.
Student Enhancements
Vice President Bynum presented the first official football schedule in forty-eight years for the Lincoln University Lions.
In a letter dated January 3, 2008, President Nelson formally appointed Dr. Dana Flint as Lincoln University’s Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR).
Vice President Bynum provided Cabinet with a copy of the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Association program inducting Mr. Cyrus D. Jones into the Class of 2007 Hall of Fame on December 18, 2007, in Phoenix, AZ.
