PHYSICAL PLANT UPDATE

March 29, 2004 – April 2, 2004

 

UPDATES/ROAD/PARKING CLOSURESthe following buildings/parking areas will be affected during the coming week:

 

v     The back road from Dickey Hall to Hansberry Hall continues to be closed to traffic. The projected opening is the end of May.

 

NOTE:  The road continues to be closed to pedestrian traffic also for the week of March 22nd through Friday, March 26th.

INFORMATION UPDATE

 

Ø    A new MAC machine will be installed by April, 2, 2004.  It will be a stand-alone machine and will be located in Azikiwe-Nkrumah Hall.

 

Ø    The Sewage Treatment Project has been approved and work will begin shortly.

 

Ø    Apex Piping will continue installing pipe supports and steam pipe in the utility tunnel.  It should be completed within the next two weeks. 

 

Ø    Lombardo and Lipe expect to focus on pulling CATV cable, inner duct and fiber optic cable for the next two weeks.  They also expect to complete the site lighting work within the next two weeks.

 

Ø    The Ryan Company plans to continue work on the utility tunnel. 

Ø    The ring wall for the water tower was poured on March 10, 2004.

 

Ø    Sidewalk restorations will resume on March 25, 2004.  Grass restoration is expected to begin by the end of March.

Walt Konopka, Heery International is the Construction Manager for these projects and Gerry Davis is the Project Administrator for Lincoln University.
