PHYSICAL PLANT UPDATE

March 15, 2004 – March 19, 2004

UPDATES/ROAD/PARKING CLOSURES – the following buildings/parking areas will be affected during the coming week:

v   The road and parking lot behind Wright Hall will be open Wednesday, March 17, 2004.

v     The back road from Dickey Hall to Hansberry Hall continues to be closed to traffic. The projected opening is the end of May.

NOTE:  The road continues to be closed to pedestrian traffic also for the week of March 15^th through Friday, March 19^th.

v   The parking area along the road between Dickey Hall and the Physical Plant will be closed Monday, March 15^th and Tuesday, March 16^th.  The road will be open for traffic.

INFORMATION UPDATE

Ø    The tunnel is progressing between Lucy Laney and Langston Hughes Library.

Ø    The new water tower base has been poured and erection of the tower should start in the next week or two.

Ø    Timber removal for the new dorm starts Monday, March 15^th and should be completed by Tuesday, March 16^th.  There will be no parking in the parking area along the road between Dickey Hall and the Physical Plant.

Ø    Some restoration has begun around the campus.  We are on the way home!

Walt Konopka, Heery International is the Construction Manager for these projects and Gerry Davis is the Project Administrator for Lincoln University. All questions, problems etc. will be addressed through them to the appropriate contractor.  You may contact them through the Office of the Physical Plant at extension 3111.  Your cooperation and understanding are appreciated!  Remember – these are your tax dollars at work!
