UPDATES FOR OCTOBER 10, 2003

UPDATES/ROAD/PARKING CLOSURE - the following buildings/parking areas will be affected during the coming week:

  • The temporary heaters installed last week in the dorms will be replaced with outside boiler plants. We expect to have the dorms connected by Monday, October 13, 2003 and classroom and office buildings should be connected by Friday, October 17, 2003.
  • DGS will be starting a new project to replace the roof of Ware Center. Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, October 13, 2002 through January 2004.
  • PPL will be working behind Alumni House and the Guest House next week. The entrance behind the Guest House will be closed during this time.
  • Please remember that barricades are installed for your protection. Please do not drive or walk around them!

Electric and Communication Project
  • Installed 80 electrical and communication manholes
  • Installed 16 outdoor switch vaults
  • 6.7 miles of site light trenching
  • 11.3 miles of PVC duct
  • 438 ground rods and 15,000 feet of ground wire in trenches

Walt Konopka, Heery International is the Construction Manager for these projects and Gerry Davis is the Project Administrator for Lincoln University. All questions, problems etc. will be addressed through them to the appropriate contractor. You may contact them through the Office of the Physical Plant at extension 3111. Your cooperation and understanding are appreciated! Remember - these are your tax dollars at work.
