UPDATES FOR OCTOBER 3-5 AND THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 6, 2003

UPDATES/ROAD/PARKING CLOSURE - the following buildings/parking areas will be affected during the coming week:

  • The road to Hansberry Hall will be shutdown on Friday afternoon 10/3, Saturday 10/4 and Sunday 10/5 for installation of electrical lines.
  • Contractors will be working on Ashmun Road on Tuesday, October 7th through Wednesday, October 8th. There will be a flagman at the site. Please drive carefully.
  • Temporary heaters have been installed in some dorms and we hope to have all dorms with temporary heaters up and running by Monday. Other buildings will follow.
  • Contractors will be in the following dorms/buildings to:
    • 1. Test fire alarm system in Frederick Douglass and Rendall Halls on Monday, October 6, 2003.
    • 2. Rough-in fire alarm wires in Ware and Grimm Halls.

Water Project Facts:
  • 300,000 gallons water tank
  • Installed 54 14" diameter steel encased concrete piles for water tower
  • 28 new water meters
  • 1600 feet of new utility tunnel
  • 6500 feet of new water piping

Walt Konopka, Heery International is the Construction Manager for these projects and Gerry Davis is the Project Administrator for Lincoln University. All questions, problems etc. will be addressed through them to the appropriate contractor. You may contact them through the Office of the Physical Plant at extension 3111.
