UPDATES FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 11, 2003

Parking is becoming more and more challenging. Employees are starting to park on the lawn and this will become an increasing problem as students return. Please park only in designated areas. Public Safety will be enforcing this. This is important to avoid damages to any vehicles and work stoppage for the construction projects. Thanks for your cooperation.

Please drive carefully down Maple Drive and notice the beautiful new lights! There will be units with 4 inch round columns around campus and 5 inch square columns in parking areas.

HIGHLIGHTS!!

  • Four and a half miles (22,176 feet) of conduit and trenching have been dug.
  • Thirteen and a half miles (71,280 feet) of wiring have been run.
  • To date, 93 manholes have been completed.

SAFETY REMINDERS

  • DO NOT GO AROUND ORANGE FENCES INTO THE CONSTRUCTION AREA.
  • DO NOT ACCESS A CONSTRUCTION AREA WITHOUT A HARDHAT.
  • PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY AROUND THE CONSTRUCTION AREAS TO PROTECT YOURSELF AND THE WORKERS.

Walt Konopka, Heery International is the Construction Manager for these projects and Gerry Davis is the Project Administrator for Lincoln University. All questions, problems etc. will be addressed through them to the appropriate contractor. You may contact them through the Office of the Physical Plant at extension 3111. Your cooperation and understanding are appreciated! Remember - these are your tax dollars at work.
