Philosophy & Religion

Our Departmental Mission Statement and Goals


Lincoln University's Department of Philosophy and Religion seeks to maintain and enhance its excellence in pedagogy and academic scholarship in the discipline of Philosophy and the academic study of Religion.  The department is also committed to academic preparation of community leaders, professionals and scholars to serve the local, national, and global community.


The departmental goals are to:

1.    Prepare students for graduate school studies.

2.    Equip students to articulate the different branches of study in their respective              disciplines.

3.    Develop critical thinking approach to various issues in life.

4.    Prepare the student to enter the marketplace.
