The
National Institutes of Health / NICHD Extramural Associates Research
Development Award (EARDA) allowed us to establish the Office of Research
Development, Planning and Coordination (ORDPC) in the division of Academic
Affairs under the leadership of Professor Delroy Louden during the fall 2003
semester.
ORDPC is designed to assist faculty, students and
administrators in identifying grant opportunities through timely
dissemination of grant and contract availability and to assist faculty
in applying for grants. We work closely with the Office of Sponsored
Programs (OSP). ORDPC collaborates with SPIRT to increase the number
and improve the quality of grant proposals submitted by faculty,
administrators and students.
The major goal of ORDPC is to foster and institutionalize
research as an integral component of Lincoln University’s intellectual
environment, and to assist in the development of a workable research
infrastructure at the University. ORDPC is designed specifically to assist
faculty and students by providing opportunities for engaging in research that
focuses on broadening knowledge within specific discipline–oriented
content areas.
