This Health Alert website seeks to contribute to effective Health education of students in Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) by designing health communication strategies that are in conformance with communication channels that have become popular among African-American youths of the college generation as well as with the cultural values of African-Americans.  More specifically, the website highlights innovative chronic disease prevention/management, particularly obesity and diabetes through Minority Health Alert resources primarily for Lincoln University students and other HBCU students that visit the Lincoln University website.  Faculty and student investigators in the project collected relevant information from different website resources that focus on prevention and management of obesity and diabetes, two of the leading health problems facing the African-American society in general.
