Lincoln University, Pa. – More than 85 Lincoln University sophomores were treated to a Night Owl Social on August 31 aimed at building camaraderie among students and raising awareness of programming specifically for sophomores.
The Sophomore Year Experience program, the cornerstone of the second year success retention initiative, hosted the event in the Lair, which is a student recreation space in the Student Union Building where students come to unwind with console gaming systems, board games, billiards, and ping pong.
SYE offers innovative programs and services to support sophomore students to increase academic performance, improve and enhance relationship development, positively influence career and vocational exploration, and ultimately impact retention. Popular events include the Get Connected series, the Sophomore Success series, and one of SYE’s most anticipated events, SYE Apprentice.
According to Courtney N. Haywood, a Student Support Services coordinator, for sophomores who missed out on the Night Owl event, it is not too late to sign up for Sophomore Year Experience.
Students can contact or sign up in 109 Wright Hall between the hours of 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The cost is $125 and students receive a Lincoln University blazer, Sophomore Year Experience t-shirt, invitation to all of SYE events, and a chance to attend the Mystery Bus Trip.
