LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa – Lincoln University Interim President Richard Green today announced the appointment of Deborah E. Johnson ’15 as director of the Office of Alumni Relations effective July 1.

With nearly 30 years of experience as a development and program professional, Johnson brings experience in the creation, implementation, management, and assessment of cultural, educational, and fundraising events, annual appeals, fund cultivation, and stewardship processes.

Deborah E. Johnson '15 will serve as director of the Office of Alumni Relations at Lincoln University beginning July 1.

“As alumni of this great institution, I value my experience as a student here and want to work with my fellow alumni to create new programming based on sound development and implementation practices that will bring more alumni back to campus and reenergize them to support their alma mater,” Johnson said.

Since 2013, she has served as special events and visitor services director at The African American Museum in Philadelphia where, as part of the senior management team, she is responsible for sponsor and program fulfillment; for all aspects of customer service related to the 360 degrees of visitor experience at the institution; and for all revenue-generating operations, among other duties.

One of Johnson’s key accomplishments at The African American Museum has been initiating multicultural experiences and opportunities through collaborations and partnerships with other cultural institutions and organizations to enhance guest experiences and sponsor fulfillment.

Previously she served as director of institutional advancement at The National Comprehensive Center for Fathers from 2009-2012 and as development director at the Rhythm & Blues Foundation from 2006-2009.

She is an expert in special event execution, community outreach benchmarking, and volunteer recruitment and retention.
