Master of Human Services Program: Admissions Criteria
REQUIREMENTS
Applicant
must be currently working as a full-time, paid staff member in the
human services field. Applicants who hold a baccalaureate degree must
have at least one year of paid experience in the human services field.
Applicants without the baccalaureate degree must have earned a high
school diploma or the equivalent and must document a minimum of five
years of progressively more responsible paid experience reflecting
higher levels of professional autonomy as a human services provider or
administrator to be eligible for admissions.

Applicants
must also be currently employed on a paid full-time basis in a human
services setting and/or in a human services role in order to be
eligible for admission to the MHS Program. Students must remain
employed full-time in a human services position throughout their
graduate program.
As part of the application process, prospective students are required to identify a PRECEPTOR, who will serve as a mentor throughout the graduate experience.
Applicants
must successfully complete the admissions testing process, which
includes writing samples, professional evaluation and standardized
testing on academic skills. Based on test scores, applicants may be
required to complete the Pre-master's Program in Writing and Critical Thinking prior to entering the MHS Program.
