Lincoln
University alumni, family, friends, administration and
staff gathered beneath the shady confines of the University’s
Fitness Trail for the Annual Alumni Picnic on Saturday,
July 19.

Dr.
H. Alfred H. Farrell ‘ 34 (third from left) is presented
with the first Inaugural Award. The award, which will
be presented annually, recognizes Lincoln alumni who have
supported the University financially, through service
and spiritually. Congratulating Dr. Farrell from left
are: President Nelson, Bruce Benson, executive secretary,
Alumni Association; Michael C. Taylor ’95, director,
Alumni Relations; Lisa M.B. Johnson, president, Alumni
Association; and Tracey J. Hunter-Hayes ’87, Trustee.
Farrell was the Alumni Association’s Executive Secretary
for 30 years and was director of Alumni Relations from
1962-1980. Dr. Farrell has also served as professor and
chair of the English Department for more than 30 years.
