States Senator Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) today presents a $100,000
check from the U.S. Department of Education for the enhancement
of science equipment at Lincoln University. From left to right
are: Sen. Santorum; Dr. Saligrama SubbaRao, professor of Chemistry
and principal investigator for the Pennsylvania Space Grant
Consortium; Dr. Robert L. Langley, chair, Chemistry Department,
and director of the Lincoln Aerospace and Engineering Recruitment
(LASER) program; and Michael B. Hill, vice president for Development
and External Relations. Lincoln is nationally recognized as
a major producer of African Americans with undergraduate degrees
in the physical sciences (biology, chemistry, and physics);
computer and information sciences; biological and life sciences.
