The main mission of Alpha Mu Gamma is to honor students for their outstanding achievement during their first years of study of a foreign language. Upon initiation, students receive a parchment certificate of membership and may wear the scroll-shaped gold key or pin.

Activities of the society include:

1. The publication of a quarterly newsletter
2. Biennial national conventions
3. Regional conferences
4. Chapters meetings
5. Sponsorship of National Foreign Language Week
6. Annual awarding of five scholarships.

Lincoln Language students may qualify for membership in Alpha Mu Gamma National Foreign Language Honor Society. For more information, please see the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures.
