WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS
OTHER EVENTS
Moodle Basics: For new users and those needing a refresher. Topics cover requesting a Moodle course, loggin in, creating your profile, setting and using forums, Using News and Calendar, creating assignments & using rubrics, helping students and how to switch roles.
Brown Bag Lunches, aka Tech Bites, will be held on one Thursday per month when Convocations are not scheduled. Topics will be determined by faculty questions and will be answered with guided discussions or a short hands-on workshop. "Bite off a little, but not more than you can chew."
Setting up Multiple Choice Quizzes in Moodle: For users expanding their skills. Topics cover question libraries, setting up m/c quizzes, overview of gradebook.
Open Labs: ATS staff will schedule 1-on-1 assistance or small group workshops as requested by appointment. Topics might include how to grade discussion forums, how to flip a course, how to use the SmartBoard.
Setting up Your Moodle Gradebook: For users expanding their skills and intermediate users. Topics cover setting up categories, determining assessments to use, helping students
University City Assistance: Contact Dr. Frank Worts, fworts@lincoln.edu, for 1-on-1 assistance with Moodle or to schedule short Moodle workshops.
Jing to Create Short Instructional Videos: Jing is free video screencasting software which records computer use with narration.
Live Webinars from Moodlerooms will be announced as they are offered. Topics will be chosen to respond to faculty questions.
PowerPoint Done Well: How to improve your PowerPoint presentations with less verbiage and clearer messages.
Improving Student Presentations with PowerPoint: Setting up a grading rubric, helping students with good presentation skills.
