The Assistant Professor of Mass Communications (Broadcast Journalism / Radio) serves as key faculty in the Mass Communications Program by performing the following duties.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Pure, Applied Mathematics or related fields. Candidates who have experience with teaching students who are deficient in mathematics or those in developmental mathematics will be preferred. Candidates must be able to work with little supervision, and have excellent and effective communication skills. Good working knowledge of classroom technology is desirable. The ability to support the mission and goals of the department and the School of Natural Sciences is essential for this position. Successful candidates must demonstrate effectiveness in teaching (including advising), service to the university and community and scholarship including ability to write and manage grants.

Job Description:

This tenure track appointee will be responsible for teaching courses in all areas of mathematics especially developmental mathematics courses. The appointee will also develop and maintain a research interest that will translate into the award of research grants. The appointee will have student-advising duties especially for students majoring in mathematics. The appointee reports to the Chair of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department. ATHLETICS - DIRECTOR OF SPORTS INFORMATION & MARKETING

Salary Range: $40,000 to $45,000 per year

The Director for Sports Information & Marketing is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of athletic media and marketing plans for the intercollegiate sports programs. The individual will be responsible for all athletic public relations with the University's Media Relations Office and outside media constituents. The individual will be responsible for the athletic website to include design, athletic stories, statistical data, records, and history on current and past Lincoln University athletes, coaches and administrators. The position requires effective communication skills and ability to provide public relations advice and c counsel to the Director of Athletics, athletic staff and student-athletes. The position requires the ability to market the athletic program to various venues (i.e., corporate sponsors, media, prospective student-athletes. The Director of Athletics will serve as the primary supervisor for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of collegiate compliance experience (internships, etc.)

  • Athletic Background (high school or collegiate).

  • Estimated on-the-job training time of 3 months.

  • Should have experience in assigned worked area.

  • Should have knowledge of marketing and promotional programs.

  • Should have experience and exposure working in different types of NCAA Division II settings.

  • Must be able to support the University's and Athletic Department's mission.

COUNSELING SERVICES / WOMEN'S CENTER - ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Type:  Full-time, Regular

Salary Range: $37,538 to $42,538 per year

The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting the Director of the Women's Center with programming, counseling, administrative support and other daily operations of the Women's Center. Supports all functional areas of the Women's Center and ensures the efficient operations of the office. Maintains confidentiality of students and demonstrates working knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA acts. Successful candidates will be able to articulate their clinical theoretical perspective. Work is primarily performed in a university campus environment and requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend work. Travel for administrative work is expected as well as visits to satellite locations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required in counseling, psychology, counseling psychology, higher education, social work. Clinical licensure preferred.

  • Minimum one year experience in higher education required.

  • Minimum one year of counseling experience required. Two or three years of counseling post masters preferred.

  • Must communicate effectively with people from varied social, educational, and economic backgrounds.

  • Must be able to work without constant supervision, make decisions, and have good judgment while performing under stress.

  1. Provides programming and administrative support to the Director of the Women's 
    Center.

  2. Develops and implements programs for female students on campus (e.g. behavioral health awareness, gender issues, health and wellness promotion, etc.) via the Women's Center and in conjunction with other departments.

  3. Provides guidance, counseling and advisement to all students on campus via the Women's Center.

  4. Serves as an academic advisor to first year students.

  5. Assists the Director with student development workshops, seminars and activities relative to female students.

  6. Maintains visibility and connection with student groups and organizations and assists them with programming needs when appropriate.

  7. Assists the Director and Dean of Students with crisis intervention when necessary.

  8. Prepares documents for presentations and publications. Monitors and updates website.

  9. Develops and maintains rapport with students in the provision of services.

  10. Required to maintain a working knowledge of issues that disproportionately affect women.

  11. Participates in staff development and in-service training activities as well as outside continuing education programs/seminars.

  12. Develops and maintains rapport with the university community at large.

Salary Range: $33,000 to $38,000 per year

The counselor is responsible for explaining the financial aid process to students and parents, financial aid awards and verification for new and returning students. The counselor is also responsible for coordinating a specific activity, program and / or process (i.e. Study Abroad, Summer School, etc.).

CAMPUS POLICE OFFICER

The Lincoln University Department of Public Safety in southern Chester County, PA is currently seeking applicants for positions as Campus Police Officers. The position is responsible for providing police services for the Lincoln University community and for protecting Lincoln University property.

This position is an entry level, sworn campus police officer position that requires a high school diploma or GED, with either one-year of police experience or any equivalent experience or training. Applicants must have successfully completed Act 120 training or its equivalent. They must also possess a current Act 235 certification or obtain one (at their own expense) within 90 days of being hired. Applicants must successfully pass a physical agility test, possess a valid drivers license, criminal history check and background investigation.

As part of an assigned team, Campus Police Officers provide safety, security and law enforcement services to the University community. The individual is responsible for providing a wide range of services, including both traditional and non-traditional police services. Successful candidates will enforce University policies and procedures, local ordinances and state laws. The individual is a first responder to incidents, accidents, and other emergency situations and is responsible for conducting initial and follow-up investigations into significant and criminal incidents. Campus Police Officers are required to participate in crime prevention and community oriented public safety programming. RESIDENCE HALL SECURITY OFFICERS

Lincoln University seeks Residence Hall Security Officers. This position reports to the Director of Public Safety & Security and will be responsible for securing exterior doors after visitation hours and frequently making tours of the residence halls. They will be responsible for identifying and escorting members of the opposite sex out of the building and informing the Residence Hall Coordinator in writing. This position is responsible for making sure all rules and regulations are followed and assisting with fire drills and investigating false alarms. This position must maintain a good working relationship with security and inform them of any illegal activities that may occur during the night shift.

Other essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Supervises the general facilities.

  2. Conducts tours frequently throughout the residence halls.

  3. Secures all exterior and emergency doors.

  4. Ensures that all policies, rules, and regulations are being followed (i.e., visitation, smoking, quiet hours, etc.).

The Residence Hall Coordinator has significant administrative responsibilities within the department. Responsible for the development of an atmosphere that encourages students to behave responsibly and demonstrate a concern for the welfare of other members of the community. Responsible for creating and maintaining an atmosphere within the residence halls that fosters the intellectual, emotional and social growth of the residents. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the residence hall, and supervision of student staff (RAs). Ensures an appropriate balance of challenge and support for residents and students staff. Develops an approach to programming that fosters the development of leadership skills in student staff, and encourages participation of the development of leadership skills in student staff, and encourages participation of the residents. Maintains a positive and cooperative relationship with Housekeeping and the Physical Plant to ensure clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides professional and personal support to student staff and residents.

  2. Conducts weekly planning and information sessions with RAs and maintains a calendar of programming activities.

  3. Establishes a Residence Hall Council to assist with coordination of programming and adjudicate minor infractions of the Student conduct Code.

  4. Works cooperatively with faculty to ensure the academic success of hall residents.

  5. Ensures the enforcement of all residence hall policies and procedures, with a special emphasis on safety and security.

  6. Ensures that residence halls are clean and comfortable.

  7. Bring any potentially serious student concerns to the attention of the Director of Residence Life & Program Development and the Dean of Student and Campus Life.

  8. Works closely with the Assistant Director and the Director of Residence Life & Program Development to ensure that RAs receive proper training, through scheduled planned developmental sessions during training week and throughout the semester.

  9. Develops and maintains positive working relationships with all campus offices that directly impact students.

  10. Maintains accurate records of all keys for the hall and all residents of the hall.

  11. Coordinates with the Director of Residence Life & Program Development on the following activities: coordinating and reporting room changes, distribution and collection of room keys at the regularly scheduled times, and reports of damaged or missing equipment, general room condition, and verification of occupancy.

  12. Generates monthly reports at the beginning of each month.
