Fall 2003. Baseball Team Volunteers in Community
Players participate in auction for at-risk youth

Several members of the Lincoln University Lions Baseball Team, an NCAA Division III Intercollegiate baseball team, took time out of their schedule to help out in the community on Saturday, November 8, 2003. They volunteered to assist the Lighthouse Youth Center, located in nearby Oxford-PA, raise funds through an auction.

The Lions helped by serving as auction runners and cleaned up after the auction ended. The Lighthouse Youth Center provides various programs and activities for at-risk kids on the weekends and afterschool.

"During my 13 years as a youth baseball coach and now as a college coach, it has always been important to me to have our teams give back to the community. We all have a community responsibility to help others," said Paul K. Johnson, Mens Head Baseball Coach, Lincoln University. "We hope to participate in other community service events in the near future."
